Cooking with MSG: the Myth of MSG in Mainstream Food Culture

A two-part lecture and cooking event centered around Asian American food culture and history!

The first part of the event was a brief presentation and discussion led by members of TAPAS. It focused on the racial politics surrounding Asian food in the United States, including the use of MSG and the phenomenon of white people opening Asian restaurants.

This was followed by a cooking lesson/tasting led by David Moon (Harvard College '21). We made fried rice using MSG!
