Global Affairs

Description:

As a progressive Asian-American collective, it is incumbent on us to deepen and pluralize our understandings of the transnational fight against oppression. At the Global Affairs committee, we create programming on Harvard's campus that offers a progressive analysis of global issues. We have arranged such events as a talk and q+a with Sugata Bose on the man-made famines of the 1940s in China, Vietnam, and India in relation to the global history of imperialism; as well as a conversation with Brian Hioe, an editor of the radical Taiwanese magazine New Bloom. We intend to turn these events into a podcast series to ensure that the featured perspectives leave a lasting impact on our institutions.
