Harvard’s TAPAS (The Task Force for Asian American Progressive Advocacy and Studies) and The Wave literary & arts magazine hosted an AAPI Zine history and workshop event that celebrated the role of zines in activism. The event highlighted student zine organizations from a wide variety of universities and colleges with brief presentations from different zinemakers about the work they’ve done. We shared tools and resources for zine-making with both people who are unfamiliar with zines and those who are seasoned zine-makers, and to discussed how art can be leveraged in political ways especially to show solidarity and build coalitions across racial groups! The event will also included a collaborative zine making workshop.
